COLOR ME CHALLENGE #4

Are you ready for a new Color Me Challenge!?  Well, I certainly am.  I find this challenge TONS of fun!
Here is just one of the five new images that are available at Sassy Cheryl's this week.
Two of the five images are available in color as well. I am still finishing up the coloring of one of the images and that will be available later today.

Love Struck Snowman Stamp

Ok, now let's get to the winners of last weeks COLOR ME challenge.
Thanks to everyone who entered.  I know that with this week being Thanksgiving it was asking a lot of you, so I really appreciate it.
The winner for the The Simplest of Gifts is: BETTY!

The winner for the Play it Again Sam Snowman is:  ALINA!

Congratulations ladies!  Just drop me an email and I'll get your free image right out to you!

Now. . .on to the Color Me Challenge.
Just as last week, there are two images for you to choose from.  This week our theme at the Sassy Cheryl's Challenge is Thinking of Love, so I drew these little snowmen to go along with that theme.   Color one, or color both. The choice is up to you.  Each image is available for just $2 while the Color Me challenge is going on. And you don't have to play in the challenge to get them at the discounted price.  I had several folks email me this past week about that.  So feel free to purchase even if you aren't planning to enter the COLOR ME challenge.
Just as last week, there will be a winner chosen for each image. The winning images will be the model for my colored image listed in the Sassy Cheryl's store, as well as having their cards featured under their coordinating digi stamp as an example and an inspiration for others!

You'll have until Monday, 9 PM EST on December 6th to color up one or both of these guys and to submit your card to qualify for the giveaway.  Can't wait to see.  Each week, I wait patiently (not really) to see the cards that you have created!

Now, here are the two images that you have to choose from.
Bum Snowman in Love

Romeo & Juliet Snowmen

Once your card is completed, simply post your photo(s) to your blog or online gallery at PCP, SNR, SCS, Flickr, Photobucket, etc. and then link that post or photo back here using Mr. Linky.
It's as simple as that.  So come on, let's get coloring!

The winners will be chosen by my 16 year old son Zach & will be announced the following Tuesday with the new Color Me post.  Each winner will receive a FREE IMAGE from the Sassy Cheryl's shop.  And remember, if you follow the challenge rules on the Sassy Cheryl's challenge blog of Thinking of Love, you can enter your image in that challenge too.  Double your chances of winning. And this week, it's a BLOG HOP!  Our VERY FIRST!!!!!!!  Each DT member is also giving away a free image at the end of the week.  That's enough reason right there to play!!!!!!!!!!!

And don't forget to join in the Show Me post on Thursday. It's TONS of fun snooping around!

Featured Sassy Friend #5. . .Susan King

It's Monday and week #5 in the Featured Sassy Friends post.  Are you enjoying this as much as I am.  It's such fun to bring these fabulous ladies to your attention.  I just love it!
This week, I have the pleasure of introducing you to another fabulous Sassy Friend.

Please welcome Susan King!
I first became aware of Susan's cards back in September when she wrote asking about using my images on cards that she wanted to sell on Etsy.  Susan is different from the other Sassy Friends that I have featured, as she uses the Sassy Cheryl's colored images to create her cards. And they are GORGEOUS!  Not because of my image, but because of her amazing ability to take that image and create these wonderfully whimsical, beautiful and oh, so fun cards!  She's super creative.
She has a lot of amazing cards, but these are two of my favorites.

The first card shown is one that Susan made using the Dancing Snowmen colored image.  Isn't it just lovely.  It's beautifully done and I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it!
The second card shown, is one that Susan introduced recently and I thought that it was terribly clever.  She used the Snowman Parts colored image on the front and then used the Some Assembly Required colored image for the inside.  (2nd photo)  I would have never thought to use these two images in this way.  I guess that's why I just draw and don't make cards.  ☺

NOW. . . .
let me show you what Susan created this week for her Featured Sassy Friend spot.
She used the Load of Cake colored image to make this incredibly festive and fun card.  But I'll let her tell you about it.
Susan says:
"I am so happy to be the Featured Sassy Friend at Sassy Cheryl's Designs blog this week.  I just love Cheryl's images.  They are such fun and certainly make you smile.
I have always been involved with crafts.  It just seems to run in my family.  I started scrapbooking about 11 years ago and when my daughter became involved with rubber stamping, I just couldn't resist playing with them as well.  Mostly making cards for family and friends.  I recently found Sassy Cheryl's website with her precolored images and again, I just couldn't resist.  They were just too much fun.
For my card, I have chosen the precolored image, Load of Cake.  I hope she doesn't fall over!  What a mess that would make!  My plans are to use this as my sister's birthday card this year.  It would be perfect.
In making the card, I used papers from 'Stampin Up', which makes the image pop.  I added glitter and some crystal effects for a glossy icing as well as using some on the candles.  And oh, those purple shoes.  Had to add some to those too!  I just love those purple shoes, so I added these purple flowers with the pearls as embellishments."

Susan has a wonderful Etsy shop that she started in September of this year called , Unique Greetings by Susan K.  She has some beautiful cards in her shop and some amazing Christmas tags!  All very professionally done.
In addition to her new Etsy shop, Susan has recently started blogging. She says both are works in progress but are coming along nicely.  I think they are both wonderful!  And you should really pop over to both and check them out.  So, go on. . .visit them both, but before you go, don't forget to leave Susan some nice comments!  I know that she will appreciate it and so will I!

Be sure to check back next Monday for another talented Sassy Friend!  If you'd like to be featured as a Sassy Friend, just drop me an email.  I'd love to have you!

And don't forget to take advantage of the
And be sure to join in on the Sassy Cheryl's Challenge as well as the SHOW ME and COLOR ME fun!  All worth the click!

My Studio . . .and more

Happy Black Friday y'all.  Hope you find some amazing deals today.  Except for maybe having breakfast out with hubby, I will be keeping my southern hiney right here!  I love a good deal, but unless it's almost FREE, I don't have that great a need for it.  But y'all have fun!!!!!  I'm sure some of you reading will be, or have already been out.  More power to ya. ☺
I spent last weekend rearranging my studio.  As most of you know, I don't like clutter or being disorganized and I like to change things around to keep it interesting. So, that's what I did, because I felt like I needed more room!  I made a trip to Best Buy and purchased a USB extension and a new Port Hub and moved all of my printers and scanners into the closet.  It makes a HUGE difference, at least for me.  Now I can just shut the door in the evening so I don't have to look at them every time I walk into my studio.

With the printers & scanners now in the closet, out of the way, I have an entire desktop free of electronics to perhaps work on a project. . . .like making my own Christmas cards this year.  Now, there's a thought! A scary one.
I moved my desk up against the wall and also moved the tv to the other side.  Now I don't have to strain my neck to watch a movie or tv while working.  And with the oversized chair that I stole from hubbies office, now I can curl up with a cup of coffee and my laptop in the morning and check my emails without having to sit at my desk.  Actually it's my chair, so it isn't actually stealing & although it's old & not so attractive anymore, it is VERY comfortable.

NOW. . .onto something different.
Some have been asking about other merchandise that I have had in the past, since seeing my stuff at their local Hobby Lobby and also as prizes on the Sassy Cheryl's Challenge Blog.  Most of the stuff that I was given as samples is LONG gone.  Given as gifts or sold in local craft fairs.  But, I did save a few things to display at Christmas.  I will have more to show you in the coming weeks from old photos that I took at an open house, but this will have to do for now.
Remember this little cutie.  This is my Small Talk Image that is available on my site. And shown just below are two examples of what a couple of different companies did with the image.  The first is a felt snowman. I think it's kind of like one of those draft catchers that you put at the bottom of your door to keep out the cold. I kept two of these, only because hubby liked them so well.  The last picture is a resin figure that Blossom Bucket did back in 2008-09.  I never received samples, not sure why, but my neighbor found it in N.C. on a trip and purchased it for me.  Isn't she the best.

I'll have more photos for you later.  Have a great day, don't spend too much $$, be nice to all those impatient, ugly shoppers and stay safe!  See you on Monday for another Featured Sassy Friend!  Until then.  Have a great weekend!

Featured Sassy Friend #4. . .Alina Meijer

It's Monday and you know what that means.  It's time for a new Featured Sassy Friend.  Yippee!
This week I have the thrill of having Alina Meijer and her gorgeous creations to share with you!  I am sure that you are familiar with Alina's amazing work as I had the pleasure of having her as Sassy Cheryl's Design Team member for six months.

Please welcome Alina Meijer!

I first fell in love with Alina's work when she was chosen to be part of the Sassy Cheryl's DT.  From the moment I saw her very first card, I was in complete awe!  Her coloring is just over the top incredible.  I love Alina's work, whether she is using one of my images or not.  But this card (shown below) that she created using my Flat Bottom Snowy Digi has to be one of my favorite.   Isn't it spectacular!  I actually love it so much, that I used her colors as the model for my own colored image.

Alina's card using Flat Bottom Snowy

Now, let me who show you what Alina has to share with you this week.
She used the Let's Get Ready For Christmas Elf Digi to create this amazing card and coordinates.  I know that you're going to love them as much as I do.  They are simply gorgeous!

Alina says:
I was born in Romania, but since 1999, I've lived in the Netherlands.  Twelve years ago I fell in love with a Dutchman, got married and now have a beautiful daughter.  By profession, I'm a primary school teacher. I work in a school for foreign students and I really enjoy it!  I have three additions: my daughter, nice stamps and beautiful papers.

I'm honoured and consider myself fortunate to be featured as a Sassy Friend at Sassy Cheryl's Designs blog.  I've used her beautiful stamps for almost a year now and my choice for today was Let's Get Ready Christmas Elf.  He is just adorable.  For my projects, I have used "Jillibean Soup" papers (the "Christmas Chestnut Soup" collection).  The snowflakes are made with the "Marianne Design's Creatables" and I've decorated the wreath with the small presents and mittens made with QuicKutz dies.  This set is a Christmas present, which, in a few weeks, will be on it's way to someone very special.  I only have to fill the box with some delicious chocolates.  Hugs to all of you.

Alina has a beautiful blog, Simcards, that you are certainly going to want to become a follower of.  So head on over and check out her amazing work.  You certainly will NOT be disappointed! BUT, before you go, leave her some love on her creations as they are well deserved.

Be sure to check back next Monday, when I'll have another talented Sassy Friend and her amazing creations to share with you.  And if you'd like to be a Featured Sassy Friend, just drop me an email.  I'd love to have you.

Featured Sassy Friend #3. . .Jane Clempson

Well, it's week #3 of our Featured Sassy Friends post.  Yes, I know, I changed the name.  It was brought to my attention by someone wiser than me, that some were getting it confused with the Sassy Cheryl's Challenge Blog and our Guest Designer spot and we can't have that, now can we. So, I changed the name.  And I personally, I think it fits!  So, Sassy Friends it is!  Yep, let's go with that.

This week, I am thrilled to have the oh so talented and yes, Sassy Jane Clempson.  This woman has the most amazing cards and has the best sense of humor.  Truly a fun lovin' woman all the way around, and you are just going to fall in love with her work.
Please welcome Jane Clempson

I first became familiar with Jane's work back in March when she entered Sassy Cheryl's challenge #3.  She created this wonderful card for her Mum, using the Gentle Friends digi stamp.  Isn't it just adorable!  I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that dress!  And her shoes.  How great are they?  That orange really makes them POP, doesn't it!  Clever girl!

Now, let's get to the fun stuff.
Here is the card that Jane made for the Featured Sassy Friends post today.  But I'll let her tell you about it.

Jane says . . . . .
Ahoy!  I'm thrilled to be this weeks 'Chosen One'.  I've been making cards for just over four years now but have always been a little bit 'crafty'.  The Medical Profession should recommend card making & blogging as a therapy as it is such a great way to escape the crazy world around us & to have a laugh too!  My style, I guess is quite random, but what I do love is the "quirky", and thats what I love about Sassy Cheryl's designs.  Actually, it's the BIG FEET (not Cheryl's!!).  That gets me every time!
For my card, I've chosen the Christmas Packages digi, but  I decided to use it to make a birthday card for my MIL.  I've coloured it with ProMarkers, cut out another set of bows & mounted them with foam pads to give it a bit of dimension.  I then added these gorgeous papers to match my colour choice.

Jane has a wonderful blog called, Janey's Cards.  She is most always a faithful daily blogger and I love reading it.  She always has something funny to say whether it's about how she cursed and screamed at her card, or something that irritated her that day.  It's a HOOT!  So head on over there, you are sure to get a laugh and a smile for the day.  But before you go, be sure to leave her some love and once you get over to her blog, double it by leaving her a comment there too!

And be sure to check back next Monday when I'll have another talented friend!
If you'd like to be a Featured Sassy Friend, please drop me an email.  I'd love to have you!

Show me Thursday #1

It's the first Show Me Thursday (but it's for an entire week, y'all.  It just happens to start on Thursday.  You have an entire week to post your photo)  at Sassy Cheryl's Designs, and it's time to show me what you're working on in your studio/craft room.  I've seen many posts where people show their studios and their cards and projects and I always get sucked in by these.  I'm a sucker for being nosey when it comes to this stuff.  It's just so much fun. Don't you think?
And even though I no longer do much hands on crafting or drawing, I have to admit, I would love to get in there with them and play. You can just tell by all the 'stuff' that they have that they truly have a passion for their craft.
So to get the ball rolling each week, I will show you what I am working on and then you show me yours.  Before people start to write and ask,
NO. . .it doesn't have to be a Sassy Cheryl's image.
That wouldn't be fair & really wouldn't make much sense.  Besides, it would cut down on the fun.  Don't you agree.  It just simply has to be what you are working on at the time you take the photo.  Fair enough?

So here is what I'm working on for next weeks releases.  Can you guess what it is?  Hmmm.  I don't think it's that hard to figure out. Do you?
So far, I have 5 images, but this is just one that is a little closer to the finished stage.
Now, show me what you are working on?
All you have to do is post your photo(s) to your blog or online gallery at PCP, SNR, SCS, Flickr, Photobucket, etc. and then link that post or photo back here using Mr. Linky.
It's as simple as that.  So come on, show me what you're working on!
Pictures and links will be accepted until Wednesday, November 17th at 9 PM EST.
The winner will be chosen by True Random Generator and will be announced the following Thursday with the new Show Me Thursday post.
The winner will receive a FREE IMAGE from the Sassy Cheryl's shop
Get busy and post those pictures.  I don't care if it's a mess, I just want to see!
And don't forget to join in the COLOR ME challenge.  It's going to be tons of fun!

Color Me, PLEASE. . . challenge!

Ok, it's really not a challenge because there are NO requirements, but you do get to color and make a card and
WIN a FREE IMAGE.
Now, I know you all love to do that. And who doesn't love winning something!
In addition to the Monday's Featured Designer, I am also starting two new weekly posts.

The first new weekly post, and I hope that you all will certainly join in, will be every Tuesday, to coincide with the new image releases.  I love coloring the images, but I have the WORST time picking and choosing the colors.
This is where you come in.  As you know, I am continually amazed by the coloring that you all do and have at times wanted to scrap the colored image from my site and start over.  On occasion, I have done just that!  I have also used some of the DT's images as inspiration too.  Here is just one example.  I used Sassy Cheryl's DT member Lily O'reilly's Joyful Santa image as inspiration for my colored image.  With good reason, don't you think!?
Joyful Santa
So . . .what I would like to do, or rather have you do, is color this new Jumping Jack Santa image for me!  Each week, when I release the new images, I will leave one image uncolored for you to color for me.  The featured digi stamp will be available for $2 until the following Tuesday, when the challenge is over.
All you need to do, is purchase that digi image, color it and submit your photo here.  It will need to be a completed card (hope that this isn't too much to ask) as the winning entry photo will be featured under that digi stamp page as an example for others to be inspired by.  I will use the winning entry as the model for coloring the 'colored image' that is made available at Sassy Cheryl's, with credit given to you.
Jumping Jack Santa
So, I hope that you will join in.  The winning entry will be chosen by my 16 year old son Zach.  He has such good taste.  The winner will be announced the following Tuesday along with their photo and a new uncolored digi image.
So come and play along.  I can't wait to see what you create for me!
All you have to do is post to your blog or online gallery at PCP, SNR, SCS, Flikr, Photobucket, etc. and then link that post back here using Mr. Linky.

The 2nd new weekly blog entry will be similar to what I have seen on other blogs.  I adore looking at your studios/craft rooms/offices.  I find it fascinating to see your workspace.  Envious at times.  All those wonderful papers, copics, paints, etc.  I often imagine you in there just working away at whatever project you are creating.  So, this blog entry will be to show off your space, your current project, etc., This contest will be every Thursday.  I'll show you what I'm working on for next weeks releases, and then you show photo(s) of your current project.  And NO, it doesn't have to be a Sassy Cheryl image, even though that would be great.  I just want to see what you're working on.   All you have to do is post your photo(s) to your blog or online gallery at PCP, SNR, SCS Flickr, Photobucket, etc. and then link that post back here using Mr. Linky.
This is what I was working on yesterday morning. (Just as an example for Thursday's post)  This image is called Santa and His Tree.)

The winner for this entry will be chosen by the True Random Generator and will also be for a
  FREE IMAGE!
Winner will be announced the following Thursday, when I show you what I am working on for the new Tuesday releases, or perhaps what I am working on that day.
I know that this is A LOT of information in one post, but I wanted to give you the 'heads up' on everything new that will be happening.

Have a great Tuesday and don't forget to also check out the DT's creations this week and enter the challenge this week over on the Sassy Cheryl's challenge blog.  It's a great one! And remember, if you follow the challenge rules on the Sassy Cheryl's challenge blog of using ribbon or Tulle, you can enter your image in both.  Double your chances of winning.

So, get your $2  Jumping Jack Santa and get creating.  Use Mr. Linky below to submit your entry. Your card must be submitted by 9 PM EST, Monday, November 15th to be eligible.
Have a great Tuesday!  If you have any questions, please feel free to email me.

Featured Guest Designer #2-Jak Heath

It's week two of the Sassy Cheryl's featured designer spot.  I am super proud and honored to have Jak Heath and her wonderful talent as this Monday's feature!  This woman is amazing!
For those of you who are not familar with Jak and her delightful work, you will be amazed at her talent and 'knowhow' generosity!  Here is just a little about her.

Please welcome Jak Heath!

Jak is a designer in the crafting industry.  She is a published artist, having been credited with designing Remembering When and Flippin' Men decoupage for the La Pashe company.  Wow!  How incredible is that!  Jak lives in the North East of England with her wonderful husband Chris.  She is the proud mother of two beautiful daughters and a blessed grandmother to, as she puts it, a 'cheeky faced' grandson.  I bet he is super spoiled!  Don't you just bet!

I first came across Jak's amazing work back in August when she entered the 24th challenge at Sassy Cheryl's.  The challenge was to use black, white & pink with embellishments and this was her amazing entry using the Ladybug Lady stamp.  Isn't it gorgeous!

And I've been in love with her work ever sense.  She is truly a gifted artist.

Along with Jak's delightful site, Jak Heath Creating Beautiful Things, she also has three amazing and informative sections including: Techniques & Tutorials, Jak Heath Designs and Promarker Knowhow.   Her site is warm, inviting and so professionally done.  She is not only a gifted designer and artist but also an amazing photographer.  But don't take my word for it.  Get over there and take a look.  But first. . . .check out this amazing card that Jak created for her Featured Designer Spot this week.  I'll let her tell you about it.

When the very talented Cheryl Alger (artist of Sassy Cheryl's) asked me to do a little project for her, I jumped at the chance.  I simply lover her work.  If you haven't yet found her, get on over there as you are missing out.

I used the Unhappy Santa with gift digi stamp and coloured it with Copic Markers.  I used a deep Purple card and created the scene with white ink and sponging over torn paper.  I then punched out a circle from scrap paper and spnged through the hole to make the moon.  I dabbed the Ink Essentials white pen randomly across the sponged scene for snow and added a star with the same pen.  I added lots of crushed glass gltter for the snow topped roof and added the image sepeartely with foam pads to give it that 3D effect.

Isn't he just about the cutest thing you've ever seen.  And so beautifully done!  And don't you just love the sweet little comment that she added! I told you she was amazing.
NOW. . . .you can head on over to Jak's site to see more of her amazing work, tutorials and knowhow!  But before you go, be sure to leave Jak a comment and let her know just how fantastic she is!

If you'd like to be a Featured Guest Designer here at Sassy Cheryl's Blog, simply send me an email for more information.  It's a simple as that.
