This week, I am proud to feature Dorcas Perkins. She is one amazing lady and if you aren't familiar with her work, then you're soon going to become a loyal follower. She's incredible.
Please welcome Dorcas Perkins.
I first became aware of Dorcas way back in July of 2010 when she entered a Sassy Cheryl's Challenge. It was love at first sight. Each of her cards is amazing, but this is one of my favorites.
Dorcas entered this card, Bum Snowman in Love, in the 4th, Sassy Cheryl's COLOR ME Challenge, back in November. And it's no surprise that it was the winner! It's gorgeous!
Now, I'll let Dorcas tell you a little about herself and how she got started making these amazing cards.
Dorcas says:I began playing with paper about 13 years ago when I discovered 3D decoupage while living in England. I didn't make cards, I did framable pictures. Then when we moved to the States, I started scrapbooking with some friends and became hooked on the whole paper, scissors and glue thing. A dozen scrapbooks later and no shelf space, I turned to cards.
My first cards were really quite pathetic. I freely admit it! I didn't even like them then. LOL. But I'm a tenacious little beast and was determined to 'get it right.' I started to enjoy it and with LOTS more practice, started making cards and I would actually feel ok about giving to someone. LOL.
Then a few months ago, I rediscovered my Prismacolor pencils (after a stint with distress ink coloring and Watercolor pencils) and really found my niche. There's no turning back now.
Sassy Cheryl's digis were among the first that I ever bought. I discovered her on Squigglefly and and I have continued to dig into my pocketbook ever since. They have such a life of their own.
So. . . on to my cards.
I love these bubble blowers of Cheryls! They remind me of many fun afternoons when I was little. My sister and I would try to make a bubble as BIG as the Bubbalicious or Hubba Bubba cowboy made on the TV commercial before it popped all over our faces. Such fun!!!
Thank you Cheryl, for the honor of being featured on your blog today.
This first card was made using the The Bubble Blower image.
The for the 2nd card that Dorcas made for her featured spot she used the Bubble Gum Disaster digi stamp.
Dorcas has amazing talent and is one of the sweetest people that I have every had the pleasure of exchanging emails with. She is a true delight!
