New Releases. . .

Well, it's Tuesday and that means a new Challenge and new releases.
Many have been asking for more prim images so I did some Raggedy Ann's for ya.
Also, there are some little bears, boys and quilts.
Here is just one of the new 15 images that were released for today.
Hope you'll enjoy them.

Sassy Cheryl Prints

Sassy Cheryl's is now offering digital prints.  These are printed on some GORGEOUS, 100% rag, Hahnemuhle Museum Etching paper.  It's 350 gsm paper that gives each image a crisp snap to the colors. I print these using archival inks on my Epson Stylus R2800 printer.  Colors are not to fade and according to Epson, they'll keep their vibrancy for generations.  However, I do recommend that you keep them out of sunlight.
They're gorgeous and the picture doesn't really do them justice.

Happy Friday. . . Late releases!

Well, you know I usually reserve Tuesdays for he new releases, but since I was so busy last week I had a hard time getting the new stuff released so I will be adding some today and tomorrow.
Here is a preview of three of them.  Just in time for Easter.

Food for thought!

Saw this today on a friends post on Facebook and just wanted to share it. Love it!!!
I know that this has nothing to do with art, but just wanted to share.

A woman, renewing her driver's license at the Departments Clerk 's office,
was asked by the woman recorder to state her occupation.
She hesitated, uncertain how to classify herself.

'What I mean is, ' explained the recorder,
'do you have a job or are you just a .?'

'Of course I have a job,' snapped the woman.
'I'm a Mum.'

'We don't list 'Mum' as an occupation,
'Housewife' covers it,'
said the recorder emphatically.

I forgot all about her story until one day I found myself
in the same situation.
The Clerk was obviously a career woman, poised,
efficient and possessed of a high sounding title like,
'Official Interrogator' or 'Town Registrar.'

'What is your occupation?' she probed.

What made me say it? I do not know.
The words simply popped out.
'I'm a Research Associate in the field of
Child Development and Human Relations.'

The clerk paused, ball-point pen frozen in mid-air and
looked up as though she had not heard right.

I repeated the title slowly emphasising the most significant words.
Then I stared with wonder as my pronouncement was written,
in bold, black ink on the official questionnaire.

'Might I ask,' said the clerk with new interest,
'just what you do in your field?'
Coolly, without any trace of fluster in my voice,
I heard myself reply,
'I have a continuing program of research,
(what mother doesn't)
in the laboratory and in the field,
(normally I would have said indoors and out).
I'm working for my Masters, (the whole family)
and already have four credits (all daughters).
Of course the job is one of the most demanding in the humanities,
(any mother care to disagree?)
and I often work 14 hours a day (24 is more like it).
But the job is more challenging than most run-of-the-mill careers
and the rewards are more of a satisfaction rather than just money.'

There was an increasing note of respect in the clerk's voice as she
completed the form, stood up, and personally ushered me to the door.

As I drove into our driveway, buoyed up by my glamorous new career,
I was greeted by my lab assistants -- ages 10, 7, and 3.
Upstairs I could hear our new experimental model,
(my 6 month old baby) in the child development program,
testing out a new vocal pattern.
I felt I had scored a beat on bureaucracy!
And I had gone on the official records as someone more
distinguished and indispensable to mankind than 'just another Mum'.
Motherhood!

What a glorious career!
Especially when there's a title on the door.

Does this make grandmothers
'Senior Research associates in the field of Child Development and Human Relations'
and great grandmothers
'Executive Senior Research Associates'?
I think so!!!
I also think it makes Aunts
'Associate Research Assistants'!!!

Well, it's Challenge day again and you know that means new releases.  Unfortunately, right now, I only have one.  I was SO busy this week with custom orders, licensing work, etc., that I didn't get as many completed that I wanted.  I may have a couple more, but don't count on it.
These fun little guys, the Balloon Bears are now available as a Digi Stamp at Sassy Cheryl's.

Releases

Just a quick note to let you all know that new releases will be available at Sassy Cheryl' every Tuesday to coincide with the challenges.  The digitally colored images however will be uploaded to the site once they are completed.
But I do have two (2) images available this morning.

This is an early release because one of the DT members, Dawn Lusk chose to use it at Split Coast Stampers in a challenge.

The second (2nd) is one that many of you may be familiar with.  It's from the Lonely Hearts image, but without the heart.  Several customers have asked that it be available this way so that it could be used more often than just for perhaps a Valentine's or 'love' image.
This one is called:  Thinking of You.

Have a great Monday everyone!

Happy Saturday......'ya'll!

I'm sitting here this morning, looking out my studio window and even though it's cloudy with occasional showers, and even though it is what I would call a dreary type of day, it's such a joy to open up my windows and let that wonderful spring air creep in to my house.  I love that spring air smell, don't you?  It gives you the realization that flowers will soon be rearing their colorful heads and leaves will soon be appearing on the trees.  And despite my allergies, I NEVER get tired of the smell of fresh cut grass!  Especially when I'm the one not cutting it.   :)

And this sweet little angel of an artist has been painting those scenes of spring!

Studio

My Studio is a place of comfort.  It's where I create everything that you see at Sassy Cheryl's.
My Cintiq is my palette.  If I had to actually hand draw everything that I create, there would not be much for sale on my site. I've gotten so used to drawing electronically that it's difficult to work on actual paper.
Working with the Cintiq is great because you can easily erase without creating holes in your paper, and since I create everything as a separate layer it's so easy to make changes.

After I took this pic, I noticed that the bottom drawer was slightly open.  You don't know how much that BUGS me!  I'm a frugal kind of gal, so I picked up all of my desk items at yard sales or on Craigslist and painted them to match.  Probably $100 total including paint.  That's good for me since the electronics department is where I spend most of my money!  : )

Many people have wondered what my studio looked like so I figured I'd give you a quick peek.  I was inspired by Tracy because she showed her wonderful studio this past week on her blog, so I figured I could take a moment to snap a few photos.
As you can see from the 2nd photo, I was working on the Marker Artist~Colored Image~ when I snapped the photos.
Enjoy!
