Time for another Show Me Thursday. We are already half way through January and before you know it, we'll be celebrating Valentine's Day! Unbelievable isn't it. I hear that right many of you are having some snow. I know that Judy, one of my DT members in Washington has been getting pounded with snow.

I for one, am glad that we are not getting any. Phew! Watch. . . as soon as I say that, we'll get some.

Well, it's hard to believe that Christmas was just a little over 2 weeks away and we are in to the second week of January 2012. Where did the time go? It certainly does go quickly, doesn't it.

Happy New Year!!!!!!!

I'm sure hoping that you all had a FABULOUS Christmas holiday and a very Happy New Year.

We sure did here, except for being a little under the weather, it was very relaxing. I am now the proud owner of an iPad and I'm just loving it. Still getting used to it, but it sure is a lot of fun and I find it very useful. Holding my recipes, my to do lists along with many, many other things. I just LOVE IT!

I sure did enjoy having the two weeks off. It was great to spend time doing absolutely NOTHING! Enjoyed spending time with the boys and my entire family is coming this weekend. No cooking though, I'm doing pizza, veggies and dip. Easy as pie. Just what I like. Can't wait to see them all. . . .especially my Great niece & nephew!

Merry Christmas!
Hard to believe that in just 3 days, it is going to be Christmas morning and in in another 11 days, we will be into another year. Lordie. . . .2012! Who would've ever thought! Wow! Boy, does time ever fly. Soon, we will be putting everything together for our tax accountant and getting ready for spring cleaning. It will be here sooner than you think. Hate to ruin it for you.......but first I need to get all those decorations down and put away. Can't wait. Isn't that terrible. I just like NORMALCY!
Ok. . . .onto something more fun. I think I just depressed myself a little. hee hee.

Only 10 days until Christmas. It's really coming, isn't it! There's no stopping it now. It's beginning to feel more like Christmas with it getting a little colder. I like it though. But right after Christmas, I'd like for it to get warm again. Think that will happen? I'd say NO! UGH!

Have you gotten everything ready for Christmas? Is your tree all decorated? Wreath on the door? Lights on the house? I only did wreaths on the windows this year with a spotlight. I haven't been able to find a new wreath for the front door, so that may not happen this year. Oh well. That's life.

Only 17 more days until Christmas. My, oh my, where did 2011 go? Sorry the post is a little late. We were out of town and I wasn't able to finish the post and the random winner until I got home this morning.

Well, here's a little something that I've been working on. I started him a couple of weeks ago. You all know, I LOVE me some snowmen, but I have been SO busy since Thanksgiving that I haven't had much time to do any drawing. I miss it!
He's still in the sketching phase, as I haven't quite gotten him the way I want him/her. Pants? No pants? Jacket? No jacket? I just keep going back and forth. Oh the joys of being an artist. But, Oh how I love it!!!!!!!!! Creating images for you to use gives me such pleasure.

Well, we are officially in to the first week of December with only 24 days remaining until Christmas. Can you believe it? Soon Christmas will be over and we'll be moving on to 2012. Where oh where did the time go? Can someone please tell me?!?!?!?
I hope that those of you who were celebrating Thanksgiving had a wonderful time with friends and/or family and that you didn't eat too much turkey and pumpkin pie. I did! I'll be the first to admit it. Christmas is the worst for me as far as snacking. Better get out those 'elastic' pants. LOL!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!

That doesn't just go for my friends in the US, but for everyone. We may all celebrate at different times of the year, but I'm sure we all have something to be thankful for today, even if it isn't your official Thanksgiving/Day Holiday.
I'm thankful for many, many things. Too many to list. . . . .but one that I am especially thankful for are our troops. Both here and over seas. I want to say a special thank you to you as well as a special Happy Thanksgiving! We can never thank you enough! May God bless you and your families this holiday season.

Since it's Thanksgiving, I thought that I'd do a little different of a post for today. Instead of showing you my normal, 'work in progress' image, I'd like to show you just a few of the many things that I'm thankful for. Since my 'side' of the family celebrated Thanksgiving this past Saturday, I was able to get a few photos of some of my sweet and amazing family.

First up, are 3 of my 4 nieces. The 4th, Alisha, didn't show up until later, and even though I got a pic of the four of them together, the picture of Alisha wasn't a great one and she would kill me if I posted it, so we'll just go with these three lovelies for today.

Is it beginning to feel like fall where you are? Are the leaves changing? Here in my part of Virginia, the leaves are changing, but it's been more like spring than fall. Yesterday we had a balmy temperature of 70°. Definitely NOT fall weather. But I'll take it! Because I know once winter settles in, it will be bringing that cold weather, and I am NOT a cold weather fan! How's about you?

Well, we are into the last few days of October. My, oh, my where in the world did the month go. Football is now in full swing and the World Series is almost over. WOW! Well, October is almost over. Can you believe it?! Where in the world did the time go? I know I keep saying this, but Lord have mercy, it just seems to go by quicker as I get older! Oh well, I guess that's just part of life!

Well, as most of you know, I introduced a new character named Sally last week. She's a sweet little redhead and I've been having such fun bringing her to life. She's a happy go lucky little thing and loves being the center of attention. She's just loving life and well, why not. Life is fun! Right!

Well, now. . . .Here is where you come in. I have another new little girl, but unfortunately, I'm at a loss as to what to name her, so I'm hoping that you'll help me out.

Well, it's the first full week of October and I'm feeling fall just around the corner. How about you? It's it beginning to cool off where you are? I'm just loving it. Next thing you know, the leaves will be changing into those GORGEOUS colors!!! I just can't wait!

Can you believe that we are in to the last week of September? Gosh, where did the year go. WOW! I just can't believe that in a little less than 3 months it will be Christmas. Good grief. Who said as you get older time just starts to fly by. Seriously. . . .who made up that rule. I'd like to have a little chat with them.
So, did you all have a good time being nosey last week? I know I did, but then again, I always do! You guys have some of the best posts and such amazing photos. Well, can you believe that we are into a full week of September? Hard to believe! Zach and I were at Target yesterday and it just seemed so weird to see the stuff for Halloween. I mean, I know it's coming, but it just seems so sudden!

So, how has your week been? Mine. Well last week we had a fun on here in Virginia! Earthquake and a hurricane. I didn't think I had been that bad! :) Seriously though, it has been an interesting week and not a very enjoyable one to say the least. But we all made it through safely and actually had a good time. Cleaning up the trees in our neighbors yards, going on the hunt for coffee and ice and having a MASSIVE cook-out to get rid of food that would've spoiled or been thrown out. So, it all turned out ok.

My SHOW ME is a little different this week. I decided to show you a few pictures of my neighborhood during and after the hurricane on Saturday.

The first picture is from the top of the hill looking down to the end of the street. See that brick house down there at the bottom. That's where your little old sassy Cheryl lives. :) Blythe took this picture after our neighbors trees feel.

This 2nd picture is the view from Bob's house. Poor little trees!

And this 3rd picture is of Cocoa and Nala, Bob and Ann's two boxers looking out the window as we were cleaning up the trees Sunday morning. Poor girls. They really wanted to get outside and play.

It's a HEAT WAVE! Yep, most of the US is suffering and I'm thrilled that Virginia is included. NOT!!!!!

It's a nice time to stay inside and color and draw and that's exactly what I've been doing. Mostly!

So, this is what I've been working on. I can't tell you how many times I colored this little fellow in the last couple of days. Just can't seem to get him the way I want. That's why I SOOOO miss the COLOR ME challenge. I need to seriously try to figure something out on that little issue.

New Stores & Changes

Well, it's official. Both of the NEW Sassy Cheryl's shops are now open. I am so excited! I'm not quite done adding all of the images from the old store, but I'm getting there. Have you been by? I hope you will come over and visit, create your new account and sign up for the Sassy Newsletter.

So far, the new shops are running smoothly, which I'm VERY thankful for. Jen, of Blue Yonder Design is amazing and she really helped to make the transition smooth. Thanks Jen!!!

But, along with the transition and the introduction of the new stores, there is also some bad news.

Since the images are now being displayed in COLOR on both sites, I will no longer be doing the COLOR ME challenge. That is, until I can figure out a new way of doing it.

Also, because of the way the new shop is set up, featuring the top sellers, I'll also have to discontinue the GUESSING GAME post as well. . . which really makes me sad because this was probably my favorite post of the week. I will be announcing the winner of the current Guessing Game this Friday as usual, but there won't be a new one.

I guess there is always some good with the bad when making changes, but look on the BRIGHT side! I'll still be doing the SHOW ME post on Thursdays. Gotta let you nosey's have a little fun!

Phew! What a week! I have been working SOOOOO hard trying to get these two new sites up and running! It certainly has been a chore transferring all of the images and information. I know that it will be worth it in the long run, but Lord knows, I'll be glad when I'm finally done.

Both sites, Sassy Cheryl's Digis and Sassy Cheryl's Illustrations are now open, but images still need to be added to the both. That will come over the next couple of weeks.

It's Tuesday already and July! Yesterday REALLY messed me up! With the July 4th holiday, I really thought it was Sunday and didn't get my images finished for the color me challenge this week. OOPS!

This has been a fabulous week. Except for the fact the week seemed to go by too quickly, I LOVED this week. I had four entire days to myself. Does that sound selfish? Sorry. I just really enjoyed not having to "DO" for anyone, just for a few days.

The highlight of the week, however was the arrival of my new great niece, Mary Mae. Born yesterday morning and weighing in at 7 lbs. 10 oz. She's just perfect. Both are doing well. I got my hands on her for a little while yesterday afternoon and as much as I hate to, I had to give her back. :)

Wow. What a week it has been. Heat, storms, rain and more heat. Oh, the joys of summer. Do I sound like I'm complaining? hee hee?!

I am heading to the hospital today to see my new great niece. She is arriving early this morning via C-section and may already be here by the time you read this. I cannot wait! Love babies, as long as they are someone elses.

Wow! There were some AMAZING cards last week for the COLOR ME challenge! I haven't done too many baby images, so they were fun. Thanks to everyone who played along. I was really THRILLED with the turnout last week!

Busy, busy week here in the Sassy Cheryl corner. Trying to get the new images completed for Kraftin' Kimmie. Finishing up some custom work, getting the 'thought' of new images for next week and then trying to get everything put together for the fundraiser for Tripp! Phew. It's neverending!

Well, one week it's like the late part of summer and then this week it's like spring. Go figure. We need a regulator button for this weather. I'm telling ya. Can't make up it's mind!

Well, today is the last day of school for Zach. Now all we have to do is get him a job! He's been trying. Just no luck. Used to be easier in my day. Ya just walked in, filled out an application, talked to someone and that was it! Nope, not anymore.

Loves Healing Hands - Lungs 4 Life Fundraiser

Sassy Cheryl's as well as some AMAZING designers are putting together a fundraiser for Tripp Oldham, a 19 year old boy who is suffering from Cystic Fibrosis. Tripp will need a double lung transplant in the next two years.

As many of you know, my husband Terry is a ROM (Regional Operations Manager) for Golden Corral and Tripp's father, Michael is one of Terry's associate managers of the Golden Corral in Charleston, SC.

This fundraiser will be similar to the Help for Katie one that I participated in to help Katie Renz who is suffering from stage 4 Stomach Cancer.

All designers are either donating an image to be placed in a group and offered for a very generous price. Others are donating rubber stamps to be given away as prizes. If you know of a designer that would like to participate please feel free to have them contact me. If you have other ideas or would like to donate a prize, please feel free to contact me directly. I'm hoping that this will be a HUGE success as the family is trying to raise 250,000 to make this happen.

I am still working on sponsors and prizes, but am aiming to have this fundraiser begin no later than July 1st.

Well, after last week, I am certainly ready for today's weather. Last week was like mid August. Hot, unbearable humidity and storms that took out power and struck trees. Oh the joys of summer storms! Yesterday was gorgeous however and today is suppose to be more of the same. Low 80's with very low humidity! Hip-hip hooray!

Hope it's nice where you are too!

Zach gets out of school on Thursday. I'm so excited to begin the summer with him, of course, he'll be busy with a job during his break and with hubby being gone a lot, I guess I'll have to spend time by myself. That's ok though! I really do enjoy it. More time for 'no cooking' and getting to bed early with having to fix snacks. ☺

Yippee for Fun & Family!! Had such a great weekend with my family. Went to my niece's graduation this past Saturday. It was such fun. She has been homeschooled the entire time and I have to admit, it was a great ceremony! I didn't really know what to expect, but I was really impressed.

Cap & gowns and everything. And what was really cool, is that the parents were the ones that presented the graduates with their diplomas. Very cool.

Yep, still running behind. Don't know what's wrong with me, but I think that I just need to get my 'routine' back. Been a hectic two weeks here in the Alger household and then my nieces graduation is this weekend and I've been trying to find a dress to wear to that. Well, it's officially summer here in Virginia. Or at least the temperatures sure do reflect that. Good grief, it was 105° with the heat index today. Come one. . . .I love hot weather more than cold weather any day, but let's have a little spring weather first!

Did you all have a good Memorial Day weekend? We sure did! Very relaxing. Spent time with family and neighbors and had lots of really great food! I think I'll have to do extra sit ups this week. And maybe a little extra walking. It was worth it though. REALLY!

It didn't dawn on me until the other day that this weekend is Memorial Day weekend. Hmmm. I wonder how I missed that one. A good time to relax. And that is exactly what I plan on doing. Cookout with the neighbors and spending time with hubby and the boy. So, what do you have planned? A day at the beach perhaps?

This one is a little different this week. This is something that I'm working on for licensing. I haven't decided if I like it, but it's what she wants so I'm waiting for the final approval. He will be a figurine. Will be anxious to see how they turn out if it's given final approval.
